Challenge Yourself - to use specialty papers

The Challenge Yourself blog is celebrating their 100th challenge this month and asked me, as a former design team member way back in 2016, if I would like to join in on the fun this month.  Well, yes, please!

The challenge is to incorporate stars into a layout in which YOU appear.  I literally took that to mean I should "star" in the layout.  In order to get that sparkle that stars represent I decided to use Close To My Heart's holographic paper - this color is called Majestic.  Just look at the rainbow of color variations it produces.

I searched for "star background" in Cricut Design Space and found the star die-cut (not a CTMH image set). The base of my layout is a paper from our Silver Foil Patterned paper pack, layered with the lighter side of our peach cardstock.  You can see the center star is also from the small silver star paper.  From my stash, I added silver foil thick foam-backed letters and stars, plus some purple rhinestones and CTMH's white acrylic hearts.

Depending on the angle you are holding the layout and the way the light hits it, you get lots of variations in color from the holographic paper.  Here's another view:

 And one more!

I don't know about you but I cannot wait to use more of Close To My Heart's specialty papers.  They include holographic (5 colors), glitter (14 colors and a bundle), ore (2 colors), pearl and foil (5 types).

You can really put your layouts into a starring role with these great products.
