Clean Desk Cards #2 - Stitched Baby Cards

I have had about 8 sheets of patterned paper odds and ends set aside on my desk for a couple of weeks, thinking I would get around to playing with them for some quick projects.  But necessity was the only effective motivation, it seems.  I needed a baby boy card, and of course, all I had on hand was a (yes, just 1) baby girl card.  So I thought I would whip up a couple of baby cards pronto.

Like last time, my starting point was Freshly Made Sketches; this time sketch #474.

This blog is first, and foremost, promoting CLOSE TO MY HEART products.  However I, like you, have many different companies represented in my stash.  And, let's be real, I need to use all of them.  So I hope I can provide you with ideas for not only CTMH products, but also supplies that may have languished too long in your space.  And, of course, I shall incorporate CTMH when possible.  I love their stuff!!

I had this cute paper from PhotoPlay called Naptime that I had been wanting to use for a long time.  But I am not scrapping any baby photos lately, so I decided to cut into it for cards.  Based on the paper, I pulled out some of my stitched rectangle frames thin cuts from CLOSE TO MY HEART.

I cut the two largest shapes from my patterned paper, and the smallest one to use for my sentiment from white cardstock.  Here's my card.

The sentiments are from Shower Flowers (inside sentiment - congratulations on your new little one), you can see I used just part of it "little one" on the short side of the label frame.

The Welcome to the World sentiment comes for the exclusive stamp set for Jan-Apr's Craft With Heart cardmaking subscription.  I love that you get so many useful sentiment stamps with each kit.  I only subscribed at the end of last year, but I am finding it useful to leave these stamps near my desktop.

Since I had two of those little green globes from Paper Studio, I decided to make another card by flipping from vertical to landscape and reversing the papers as well.  I also decided to put all the sentiment on a single frame. All the heart enamel dots are by an unknown company from my stash.

I stamped the sentiments in Cinnamon ink - and if you don't already have it, you may just want to order it.  Spoiler - it plays prominently in the upcoming March-April catalog.

And lastly, if you don't have any stitched quilted papers in your stash, CLOSE TO MY HEART still have a limited supply of the Stitched Together Cardmaking workshop on sale!!

Well, now that my desk is cleaned off (and I have enabled you sufficiently), I can start on something new.
